Why 63% of My November Sold Before Thanksgiving

September 29, 2026•4 min read

Your best customers are not waiting for Black Friday. You're making them wait. Here's the early window that pulls most of the month forward.

Let me tell you the number that changed how I run November.

63%.

That's how much of my November sold before Thanksgiving even arrived. Before the big weekend started. Before I sent a single "Black Friday is here" email.

Most of the month was already done before the day everyone plans around.

Here's the part that surprises people. That didn't happen by accident, and it didn't happen on the weekend. It happened in a window I opened on purpose, early, for the people who already trust me.

This is close one. And once you see it, you can't run November the old way again.

Your best buyers are not waiting for Friday

Here's the thing we get backwards.

We tell ourselves customers are holding out for Black Friday, waiting for the deepest possible price. Some are. But your best customers are not most people. They already like you. They already buy from you. They are ready now.

We're the ones making them wait. We hold the offer back until the last week of November because that's the rule everyone follows. Meanwhile the person who would have happily bought in the first week is sitting there, ready, with nothing to say yes to.

Close one just gives them something to say yes to. Early.

What the early window actually is

It's simple. Before the public sale, you open a short, early-access window for a smaller group.

Three pieces make it work.

They register to get in. People opt in for early access. This matters two ways. You build a list of your warmest buyers, and the ones who register feel chosen, not marketed to. The better price works the minute they register.

It's genuinely early. Two weeks or so before the crowd. Before the noise, before the flood of Black Friday emails, when you're the first one in their inbox instead of the fifth.

Then you close it hard. The window ends. The early price ends with it. That deadline is what turns "someday" into "today." No hard close, no urgency, and it drifts.

That's the whole move. Register, buy early, window closes. Does that make sense?

Why giving the deal early is not leaving money on the table

This is the objection every owner has, so let me hit it straight.

It feels like you're handing your best customers a discount they would have paid full price for. Like you're leaving money on the table.

It's the opposite.

Those customers weren't going to pay full price in November anyway. They were going to wait for your Black Friday sale like everyone else, then buy at the discount, in the noisiest week of the year, competing with every other tab open on their phone.

Close one moves that same sale to a quiet moment when you have their full attention. Same customer, same discount, but now it lands early, it feels special, and it pulls the whole month forward. At one brand, 72% of the early-access revenue came in before the public sale even opened.

You didn't give anything away. You just stopped making your best people wait.

What it does to the rest of your month

Here's the quiet magic.

When close one pulls most of the month forward, everything after it gets easier. The weekend no longer has to carry the whole year, so you don't have to slash your price to survive it. The after-close has a warm, happy customer base to work with.

Remember the chain. Close one is the first link. Pull it and the whole rest of November goes slack. Run it well and every close after it gets stronger.

Why "wait for Friday" keeps costing you

The instinct is to save it all up. Build to one big day. Go loud on Black Friday.

But saving everything for Friday is how you end up with one frantic weekend and a lot of buyers who were ready two weeks earlier and had nowhere to go. More Friday doesn't fix that. The gold was sitting in the early window the whole time, and the "wait for the weekend" rule kept you from digging there.

63% of my November came out of that window. Not the weekend. The window.

Run close one on your own store

If you sell $1M+ a year, I run a free live workshop where we build this for your store, step by step. The early window, who to invite, what to offer, and how to close it hard. It's the same play behind that November.

You don't have a Black Friday problem. You have a November problem. And close one is where most of the answer has been hiding.

You've got this.
