Uncover Hidden Revenue in 3 Simple Steps
See more details about how this impacts business performance.
Ever feel squeezed dry by your business?
What if I told you an orange could inspire a mindset shift that flips your business 180 degrees?
Business got you squeezed? Discover the orange secret that sparked one of the greatest mindset changes ever.
What do an entrepreneur and an orange have in common? Both face a lot of pressure to create something valuable. But here's the thing: neither of you has to endure endless stress to produce great results.
Imagine if you needed to make a glass of orange juice from one orange. Most people would think of squeezing every last drop out, right? But what if told you there’s a better way—a Transformational Mindset?
Follow me on this journey where we discover that instead of squeezing one orange until it’s dry, you will see that just a short trip away is a grove full of orange trees. Even Alexander the Great couldn’t do much with just one orange.
Picture this: you have an orange and need a full glass of juice. You slice, squeeze, and maybe even use a juicer. Here’s the thing, a single orange can only provide you with about a third of a cup juice. Now, think of the orange as yourself and the juice as your business. No matter how hard you work, there’s a limit to what you can produce.
Having a mindset which is focused and limited by trying to squeeze every last drop out of a single resource, can be very overwhelming for entrepreneurs. Stephen Covey refers to this as the “Scarcity Mindset”—seeing resources as limited and unchanging.
Now imagine a grove full of orange trees. And you can pick as many as you need to make endless glasses of juice. There would be enough juice for you and many others. This is the “Abundance Mindset”—seeing opportunities and resources differently, plentiful and abundant. When you have this type of mindset, entrepreneurs are freed to drive growth, innovation, and unlock hidden potential.
Take Oprah Winfrey, for example. She started with very little but over time, built a media empire by looking at every experience as a growth opportunity. From her TV show to her magazine and network, Oprah’s secret has been believing in creating value, which has brought her great success.
Shifting from scarcity to abundance mindset opens up a world of possibilities. Instead of focusing on resources being limited or finite, you’re always growing, innovating, and finding new ways to succeed. This doesn’t just result with small changes it actually creates a path that leads to continued success and limitless potential.
Psychologically, this kind of thinking comes from the growth mindset theory by Carol Dweck.
People with a growth mindset believe in the potential for development and learning. They are more resilient, flexible, and open to new possibilities. In business, this means constantly finding new ways to improve and make a greater impact—like having access to a whole grove of oranges instead of just one.
Transformational thinking impacts all areas of business. It’s not just about short-term success; it’s about long-term growth and collaboration. Understanding these mindsets can help change how we manage people and define success not only in our business but also in our day-to-day lives.
So, what’s your mindset toward performance and capability?
Are you focused on squeezing every last drop, or are you looking for the grove full of opportunities?
